Selena Gomez's underpin of Demi Lovato approached while she was in recovery: RobotCeleb.com posted an article today that questioned Selena Gomez's support of Demi Lovato while Lovato was in rehab. Is this a legitimate question raised by Robot Celeb.
In a word, no. The first paragraph of the article poses two questions, neither of which are answered in the remainder of the article. The questions are impossible to answer because neither RobotCeleb, or anyone besides Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, could possibly know the answers.
After posing these questions, the author then goes on to tell everyone why he thinks Selena Gomez didn't support Demi Lovato in rehab. Never mind the fact that this author couldn't possibly know that and that there is no evidence to support the claim either.
Everyone keeps talking about how Lovato and Gomez are friends again. But, does anyone but Gomez and Lovato know if they really stopped being friends in the first place? NO. All we have are a few press clippings and comments made by the two. Nobody knows how much of a falling out Gomez and Lovato really had. In fact, last month, this is what Selena Gomez told a Spanish outlet called El Paradiario.
“Many people believe that there is some rivalry between us, whether because of our ages, our music or the programs that we do," Gomez said. "But there is no rivalry. Demi and I have been friends since we were six-years-old, from when we first met while working on the TV show, Barney. She is my best friend.”
Why shouldn't we take Gomez at her word?
Everyone has fought with their best friend from time to time. But, just because you have a fight with your best friend doesn't mean your friendship is over. Being able to stick together through thick and thin is part of what makes people best friends. Did Gomez and Lovato make comments about each other that they may regret? Possibly. But everyone says things at one time or another that they end up regretting. It doesn't mean that they threw away a 12 year friendship. For all we know they made up in private shorty after they fought and didn't make a big deal about it publicly. All we know is what was reported in the tabloids, and when do we ever believe what they have to say?
For RobotCeleb.com to assert that Gomez did not support Lovato while she was in rehab is absurd. Just because she didn't Tweet it doesn't mean she didn't offer support privately. Also, to say that Gomez's PR people told her to stay away from Lovato is ridiculous. If they had done that they could have caused an even bigger PR mess for Gomez. How would it look if it became public that Gomez had abandoned her best friend when she needed her the most?
