Selena Gomez Awards: Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez nominated for BET Award

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were recently nominated for a BET Award. Justin Bieber is nominated in the “Best New Artist” category while Selena was named for the “Young Stars” category.The nominations raised the eyebrows of some people as you all know, BET stands for Black Entertainment Television and Justin is in no way African-American.
The young star, Bieber replied to critics via Twitter, “Thank u to BET for nominating me for Best New Artist the BET Awards this year!! This is an incredible honor and I’m very grateful… read some articles about my bet nomination n i think this goes 2 show that music is color blind… Music is the universal language no matter the country we are born in or the color of our skin. Brings us all together.”The other artists who were nominated for the “Best New Artist” category are Canada’s Melanie Fiona, rapper and Nicki Minaj. Meanwhile, Selena will be facing Lil JJ, Keke Palmer, Willow Smith and Tyler James Williams for the award.
